Automotive Finance Manager (F&I Manager)
Job Description
Manage the finance portion of the dealership vehicle purchase experience while driving approvals, compliant paperwork, and finance and insurance sales.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the sales team and customers to support the car-buying finance process
- Develop customer rapport to build referral relationships and expand your customer network
- Consult customers and sell finance and insurance warranties
- Prepare, review, and submit accurate paperwork for title work and to secure funding from finance sources in a timely manner
- Meet monthly objectives and complete customer paperwork deadlines for lenders and accounting
- Handle and account for customer funds during the vehicle transaction and ensure money is turned over to accounting
- Follow all local and national regulations and advise sales staff on new or updated state laws tied to vehicle purchasing
- Coordinate with service advisors to help customers purchase extended warranties when needed
- Maintain customer relationships and a strong reputation with lenders and vendors
- Present a finance and insurance menu that clearly explains warranty packages
- Assist sales professionals with customers by explaining lending options and warranty offerings
- Build relationships with local and national bank representatives and manufacturer reps, including monthly meetings
- Use advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office and dealership management systems
- Stay highly organized and detail oriented in a fast-paced environment
- Apply strategic thinking to find solutions for customers when needed
- Maintain self-motivation while working effectively as a team member
- Understand tag and title laws and DMV requirements
Requirements
- Prior automotive sales consultant experience required (1-3 years)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or a related field (preferred)
- MBA (plus)
- Consistent track record of impeccable customer service ratings
- Ability to pass pre-employment screenings including background check and drug test

Compensation
- $250,000 - $350,000+ per year
- Base salary plus additional bonus structure based on the pay plan
- Final pay depends on factors including type and years of experience, industry experience, and education
