Dental Billing & Financial Coordinator (Fee-For-Service)
Job Description
This onsite role supports patients in a fee-for-service, out-of-network dental environment by managing billing workflows and serving as a financial point of contact among the clinical team, patients, and insurance companies.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and present comprehensive treatment plan estimates to patients, clearly explaining out-of-network benefits.
- Collect patient co-pays, deductibles, and full payments at the time of service.
- Prepare, code using CDT, and submit accurate insurance claims as a courtesy to support timely reimbursement.
- Post patient payments and update records with insurance electronic explanations of benefits (EOBs).
- Reconcile daily and monthly accounts receivable (A/R) to maintain accurate balances.
- Track open claims, manage aging reports, and appeal denials with robust dental narratives to maximize patient reimbursement.
- Respond to complex billing questions with empathy and professionalism, guiding patients through out-of-network benefits.
- Submit and monitor pre-treatment estimates for complex restorative or cosmetic cases.
Required Experience and Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of dental administrative experience, with a strong focus on dental billing, coding, and financial coordination.
- Prior experience in a Fee-for-Service or predominantly out-of-network dental practice is highly preferred.
- Strong command of dental terminology, CDT coding, and out-of-network insurance reimbursement workflows.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to discuss high-case investments confidently with a Midtown NYC clientele.
- High School Diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.

Compensation and Schedule
Pay: $29.83–$35.93 per hour (listed range: $29–$35 per hour).
Expected hours: 29.0–35.0 per week.
