Job Description
Senior financial steward for Artists ReEnvisioning Tomorrow Inc, onsite in Peoria, IL, with a salary range of $75,000–$85,000 per year.
Responsibilities
- Plan and oversee grant budgets across state, federal, foundation, and corporate funding sources.
- Own CSA reporting, craft grant narratives, and manage compliance calendars.
- Monitor restricted and unrestricted funds and their allocations.
- Ensure timely, accurate submission of all grant financial reports.
- Prepare, file, and track program financial reports (PFRs) for all grants.
- Ensure adherence to 2 CFR 200 and other funder guidelines.
- Act as internal Controller, upholding robust financial systems and internal controls.
- Oversee monthly close processes, reconciliations, and internal financial statements.
- Produce and maintain weekly cash flow analyses with actionable insights for leadership.
- Coordinate audit preparation and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors.
- Implement processes and systems to reduce reliance on external accountants while preserving accuracy.
- Deliver financial updates and compliance briefings to the CEO and Board.
- Provide objective, solution-focused guidance to the CEO on financial risk, compliance, and strategic decisions.
- Collaborate with the CEO and Chief Operations & Program Officer to align budgets, cash flow, and compliance with organizational priorities.
- Serve as a trusted advisor, challenging assumptions when needed and flagging concerns early.
- Work with program staff and grant writer to ensure financial accuracy in grant proposals and program budgets.
- Offer financial analysis to inform strategic decisions.
- Train managers on allowable expenses, budget tracking, and compliance requirements.
- Build scalable financial infrastructure to support ART INC’s future growth.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 7+ years of nonprofit finance experience, with emphasis on grants compliance and budgeting.
- Proven expertise with 2 CFR 200 and government or state-funded grants.
- Direct experience leading audits and managing funder financial reporting.
- Experience presenting financial information to senior leadership and boards.
- Strong judgment, discretion, and ability to work independently.
