Job Description
Bassett & Associates, P.A. is seeking a Financial Accounting Manager to support and oversee key accounting services for a growing portfolio of clients. Based in Raleigh, NC with hybrid work arrangements, this role focuses on managing review and reporting workflows, strengthening quality control, and improving processes for efficiency across 50+ clients.
The position includes direct responsibility for engagement oversight, monthly bookkeeping review, SSARS compliance monitoring, and mentorship of team members. Salary range is USD 115,000 to 145,000 per year for a full-time schedule.
What You’ll Do
- Oversee all Reviews, Compilations, and AUPs.
- Apply expertise in WIP schedules and percentage completion for Construction Contractors.
- Review monthly bookkeeping and prepare monthly financial snapshots for 50+ clients.
- Ensure SSARS compliance and maintain quality control standards across engagements, including preparing the firm for peer review every 3 years.
- Perform QuickBooks consultations for select advanced clients.
- Participate in onboarding new bookkeeping and financial statement clients.
- Maintain constant client contact, both proactively and as needed.
- Manage direct reports.
- Improve financial statement and bookkeeping processes and workflow.
- Research accounting technology and AI Tools, recommend improvements to save time and improve profitability, and implement approved recommendations.
- Provide training and mentoring to other team members.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience with a public accounting firm.
- 2 years of manager or supervisor experience in public accounting.
- . Knowledge of GAAP.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and familiarity with other Microsoft applications.
- A strong interest in and openness to AI technology.
- Demonstrated ability to manage deadlines, client correspondence, and communication.
- Must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
