Financial Controller

Blackstone Global seeks aFinancial Controller to lead accounting and financial operations for a four-unit manufacturing holding company in Chelmsford, MA (onsite) using a shared services model.

Responsibilities

• Manage all core accounting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, inventory accounting, and intercompany activity.
• Direct and continuously refine the monthly close to deliver precise, timely financial statements.
• Produce monthly consolidated financial statements and quarterly reviews of actual versus plan and prior-year P&L analyses, then discuss results with the leadership team.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local reporting requirements.
• Build and maintain robust internal controls across cash management, receivables, payables, payroll, and inventory.
• Develop and document financial policies, procedures, and reporting systems.
• Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes, systems, and reporting efficiency.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of current accounting and inventory systems.
• Assess potential technology enhancements including possible ERP implementation to support growth.
• Support relationships with banking partners by preparing monthly reporting packages and responding to information requests.
• Collaborate with business unit leaders to improve visibility into inventory, manufacturing costs, and product-line profitability.
• Provide financial analysis that informs operational decision making.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff including recruiting, onboarding, and training as needed.
• Foster a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement within the finance function.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience including at least 3 years in a Controller or similar leadership role.
• Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or inventory-intensive environments strongly preferred.
• Proficient with accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite, or other ERP platforms.
• Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills.
• Experience with manufacturing cost accounting and inventory management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to balance detail-oriented accounting work with big-picture operational thinking.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate financial data for non-financial leaders.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to accuracy.
• Experience in electronics, medical, or industrial manufacturing is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: USD 135,000 - 145,000 per year, plus a bonus opportunity.
