Manager, Newbuild Finance

Responsibilities

• Provide financial leadership and development for the Newbuilding Fleet Modernization Finance Team
• Own and manage the annual fleet modernization budget in excess of $300 million
• Oversee budget monitoring and reporting, including reviews with the Newbuild Brand and company-wide financial leadership
• Review Newbuilding construction financials and coordinate with key customers on their financial activities, including preparing corporate certifications and securing approval from the EVP of Newbuilding and Fleet Design
• Develop and communicate the Newbuilding Department Project Plans
• Lead monthly and quarterly forecasts with department heads and major customers across multiple projects, including drydock yard management
• Partner with Executive leadership to craft the annual departmental operating plan focused on efficiencies and value-added work
• Serve as the subject matter expert on regulatory controls such as FCPA, SOX key controls, and the UK Anti-Bribery Act to ensure compliance with government regulations and internal policies
• Maintain and enhance project cost controls, directing monthly closings and reconciliations to the general ledger
• Ensure adherence to company policies on investments and expenses
• Support Project Managers in developing and managing project costs and measuring effectiveness across the full scope of works
• Facilitate capital asset requests and amendments through financial plans, ROI analyses, and proper investment vs expense recognition
• Provide rapid ad hoc financial analyses in a dynamic environment
• Prepare business presentations for special projects
• Support vendor evaluations and manage payment approvals and invoice processing
• Serve as the departmental liaison to Accounting Brand Finance and Corporate/Capital Planning
• Maintain financial control of fleet modernization projects
• Manage an active portfolio of approximately $600 million on a two-year rolling basis
• Uphold adherence to the department budget and controls and identify efficiencies and value-added opportunities
• Perform other duties as required

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business
• Minimum 8 to 10 years of financial management experience within a large corporation
• Direct experience in FP&A or equivalent, with a proven track record in project analysis, tracking, and implementation
• Positive attitude with demonstrable success in coordinating complex financial activities
• Strong communication skills and a solid controllership mindset
• Ability to collaborate with and guide highly technical managers
