Job Description

The Corporate Debt Finance (CDF) Group within TD Bank’s Corporate and Investment Bank seeks a Vice President for its execution team in New York. The role in Credit Management focuses on credit underwriting, portfolio monitoring, structuring, and the development of policies and controls supporting complex CDF bank financings.

Role Overview

Working with the Corporate Debt Finance (CDF) execution team, you will support strategic development and implementation of policies and controls, contribute to credit underwriting decisions, and oversee ongoing monitoring of portfolio performance and asset-level events. The position also involves structuring and due diligence activities connected to asset-based back leverage financing and related CDF products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead senior-level efforts in the strategic development and implementation of policies and procedures, risk rating methodologies, and internal systems and controls for the newly formed CDF business in coordination with TD’s Risk Management and CDF Origination teams.
  • Develop and maintain internal and external databases to monitor borrowers and collateral.
  • Track and assess key performance indicators tied to sector and product drivers to support credit underwriting decisions.
  • Apply expertise in private credit portfolio construction, fund structures, valuation methodologies, and underlying asset performance metrics for asset-based lending and fund finance transactions.
  • Interact and negotiate with senior finance professionals at clients’ businesses.
  • Provide leadership on due diligence and structuring for complex CDF bank financings.
  • Oversee research and analysis of clients’ financial performance.
  • Review and approve portfolio acquisitions, amendments, restructurings, and other material asset-level events to ensure alignment with approved credit terms and risk appetite.
  • Monitor portfolio performance, asset quality trends, and collateral composition; identify emerging risks and recommend risk mitigation actions.
  • Build detailed models to support appropriate capital structures and financial covenants.
  • Help develop and enhance portfolio monitoring frameworks, approval processes, and risk reporting tools for structured and asset-backed credit facilities.
  • Identify potential cross-sell opportunities and coordinate with relevant business units or product groups.
  • Prepare and recommend credit submissions for approval.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of banking experience, including at least 3 years in lender finance/CDF.
  • Deep understanding of the regulatory environment and how it impacts leveraged loans and other securities or asset classes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple transactions and projects simultaneously.
  • SIE, Series 79, and Series 63.

  • Location: New York, NY (onsite)
  • Hours: 40

Compensation

Pay Detail: $200,000 - $225,000 USD (per year).
