Job Description
The Chief Financial Officer for LGO Hospitality leads the financial function across accounting, information technology, and human resources for a multi-concept restaurant company based in Phoenix, with travel to Southern California and within Phoenix as required.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all relevant financial and accounting information to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Direct the evaluation of policies and procedures, including cash management, budgeting, and payroll.
- Design and monitor internal control systems to align with company values, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure records comply with auditor and government regulatory requirements.
- Lead strategic financial initiatives, assess risk and benefit, and provide recommendations to support the company’s direction.
- Forecast performance, prepare budgets, and report financial status with variance analysis and improvement recommendations.
- Oversee the budgeting cycle and capital request processes.
- Manage relationships with third parties when accounting or financial functions are outsourced, and secure favorable terms for payroll, card processing, and credit terms.
- Maintain strong, ongoing communication with the management team and contribute to training on operational best practices.
- Supervise payroll and human resources activities, pursuing efficiency improvements in both areas.
- Maintain a high level of communication across all levels of the organization.
- Oversee employee benefit programs to maximize cost-effective options.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA and/or CPA highly desirable; a minimum of five years in senior financial leadership, partnering with executive teams, preferably in the restaurant industry.
- Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to engage multiple levels of management.
- Solid knowledge of information technology and human resources practices; familiarity with Arizona and California environments is preferred.
- Results-driven, with a sense of urgency in real-time decision making, comfortable with complexity, and a demonstrated commitment to integrity and transparency.
Location and Travel
Based at the Phoenix administrative headquarters, with availability to travel to restaurant locations in Southern California and Phoenix as required.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: USD 120,000 - 150,000 per year, dependent on experience.
- Vacation: two weeks annually, increasing to three weeks after three years of service.
- Sabbatical: four weeks of paid sabbatical after ten years of employment, in addition to the annual vacation allowance.
