Job Description
Newburgh Armory Unity Center seeks an experienced Finance & Grants Manager in Newburgh, NY, for a salary of USD 85,000 per year.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the full range of the organization's financial operations.
- Create and manage the annual operating and program budgets.
- Track financial performance and cash flow across the organization.
- Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Present financial results to executive leadership and the Board of Directors.
- Deliver financial forecasts and strategic guidance.
- Coordinate annual audits and Form 990 filing with external CPAs.
- Ensure adherence to GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards.
- Oversee general ledger activities.
- Manage accounts payable processes.
- Oversee accounts receivable.
- Perform bank reconciliations.
- Manage cash resources.
- Reconcile credit card statements.
- Allocate payroll costs.
- Maintain financial records.
- Maintain QuickBooks file accuracy.
- Review and authorize invoices.
- Ensure correct revenue and expense coding.
- Monitor internal controls and financial policies.
- Maintain vendor files and accounting documentation within EZ Facility.
- Oversee banking relationships and deposit activity.
- Develop grant budgets.
- Monitor grant expenditures.
- Prepare reimbursement requests and vouchers.
- Keep supporting documentation up to date.
- Ensure compliance with all funding requirements.
- Track grant deadlines and reporting obligations.
- Coordinate grant audits and monitoring visits.
- Act as the primary fiscal liaison with funding agencies.
- Support program managers with financial reporting.
- Monitor program expenditures.
- Assist with organizational strategic planning.
- Support fundraising initiatives with financial reporting.
- Track restricted funds and donor activity.
- Participate in executive leadership meetings.
- Assist with special projects and organizational initiatives.
- Supervise finance staff and consultants as assigned.
- Develop and improve organizational financial policies.
- Strengthen internal controls and improve operational efficiency.
- Build strong relationships with funders, auditors, government agencies, community partners, and Board members.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, or related field.
- Five (5) or more years of progressively responsible nonprofit financial management experience.
- Experience managing government grants and contracts.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP.
- Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting.
- Experience with budget development.
- Experience with financial reporting.
- Experience with internal controls.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
