Patient Financial Coordinator — Insurance, Billing & New Patient Experience

MaxLiving Chiropractic - Beltline is seeking a Patient Financial Coordinator to help run the financial experience of patient care at a fast-paced chiropractic health center in Grand Rapids, MI. This onsite role focuses on welcoming new patients, supporting insurance and coverage conversations, and ensuring balances and payments are handled with clarity and care.

What you’ll do

• Welcome new patients, complete intake, and ensure paperwork is prepared before they see the doctor
• Explain insurance benefits and out-of-pocket costs clearly, and follow up to confirm details when you don’t know
• Process payments, set up payment arrangements, and work through financial objections professionally
• Track cards on file and follow up on outstanding balances until they are resolved
• Ensure each new patient leaves with next visits booked
• Be the second set of hands at the desk to support daily front-office flow
• Participate in community outreach about 6 to 8 hours per month, with some weekend availability

What you bring

• At least 1 year handling payments and money conversations with customers (medical, dental, chiropractic, or wellness office preferred, insurance and billing training will be provided)
• Confidence discussing costs, plans, and balances, including addressing pushback with kindness
• Problem-solving mindset and enjoy helping people work through financial concerns
• Strong attention to detail, ownership, and a standards-focused approach (described as needing an owner, not a helper)
• Growth mindset
• Shift availability required: Night Shift and Day Shift
• Work location: In person

Pay, hours, and performance

• $21–$24 per hour, based on experience
• Performance review at 90 days and at one year
• 35–40 hours per week, Monday–Friday
• One evening shift per week (after 7:30 PM)
• Monthly KPI bonus of up to $3,000 a year, performance driven
