Job Description
New Mexico Finance Authority offers a mission-driven environment that partners with public entities, private companies, and local governments to finance community development across the state. The Regional Finance Manager role is full-time and hybrid, based in Santa Fe, NM 87505, and reports to the Managing Director, Lending. The position provides a salary of $80,000 to $85,000 per year and a comprehensive benefits package designed to support work-life balance and professional growth.

Responsibilities
- Represent NMFA across the state, collaborating with private entities, local governments, municipalities, counties, and others to originate and structure loans and grants using NMFA programs.
- Partner with public entities and financial advisors to help entities obtain NMFA financing to meet community needs in a manner that is effective and efficient.
- Collaborate with the NMFA Credit Department to analyze revenue streams, financial outlooks, and program policies to advise clients on prudent financing options.
- Travel within the state to meet with clients on an ongoing basis, building relationships with existing and new clients.
- Market and assist in underwriting financing applications for NMFA's private lending programs such as the State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI) Program, Opportunity Enterprise Commercial and Housing Development programs, and other initiatives aimed at expanding access to capital and fostering statewide economic development.
- Underwrite applications, present projects to committees and boards for approval, and coordinate the processes leading to closing.
- Market lending programs, build client relationships, and underwrite technically complex projects including infrastructure and multi-phase initiatives for public entities, for-profit entities, and nonprofit entities.
- An understanding of New Mexico local government financial management methods and procedures is strongly preferred.
Requirements
- Experience in accounting, banking, finance, budget management, or a related field.
- Excellent technical report writing, verbal and written communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance or related field; preferred.
- At least five years of relevant experience.
- Strong presentation skills; financing recommendations are regularly presented to committees and Boards of Directors.
- Ability to balance multiple projects, analyze large volumes of data, and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- In-state travel to meet with clients on an ongoing basis.
- Understanding of New Mexico local government financial management methods and procedures is strongly preferred.
