Accounting Manager, Finance

The Accounting Manager, Finance role in St. Louis, MO is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely completion of core finance and accounting activities, supporting audits and reporting, and providing operational backup across the department.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure timely completion of cash receipts, portal invoices, sales tax filings, expense reports, journal entries, account reconciliations, and other finance department tasks.
• Review and approve monthly commission adjustments.
• Review and approve accounting transactions that exceed established limits.
• Review Sales & Use Tax and Business Licenses notices, ensuring returns are filed on time.
• Provide backup coverage for all roles within the finance and accounting department.
• Assist with the development of finance procedures and policies, and keep relevant manuals up to date.
• Support adherence to accounting controls.
• Assist with internal audits and periodic sales tax audits.
• Use Crystal Reports for financial analysis and reporting.
• Conduct bi-annual performance reviews and manage the ADP time system.
• Complete special accounting projects as assigned by the Controller, CFO, or President.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience.
• 5 to 10 years of experience managing an accounting department.

Preferred Background

• Public accounting or public company SOX experience (plus).
• Experience with large ERP systems such as JD Edwards, Oracle, PeopleSoft, or SAP.
