Job Description

The Controller will oversee financial reporting, cash flow forecasting, and construction accounting across multiple entities for a Central Texas builder with four subcontracting companies and one General Contractor, while managing accounting operations and serving as the primary liaison with banks, insurers, and sureties.

Responsibilities

  • Direct financial reporting and lead Payroll, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable functions
  • Manage all lines of credit, bank loans, and other financing instruments
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the General Ledger
  • Lead the monthly close process
  • Lead the quarterly close process
  • Lead the yearly close process
  • Oversee financial reporting across multiple entities
  • Maintain compliance with IRS requirements
  • Ensure adherence to construction accounting standards and regulatory requirements
  • Understand and apply construction accounting principles, including over/under billings, WIP schedules, and related reporting
  • Utilize and manage construction accounting software, Foundation experience preferred
  • Perform financial analysis and support strategic decision-making
  • Serve as the primary financial liaison with banks, insurance providers, and sureties
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts and projections
  • Coordinate and prepare required tax filings and statements

Requirements

  • Accounting degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management; Controller experience strongly preferred
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Construction industry experience highly desirable
