Overview
The role operates in the EXIM leadership cadre, concentrating on expanding and diversifying the agency’s international reach. Responsibilities
- Leads large, multi-year initiatives requiring substantial agency resources, coordinating internal and external stakeholders to meet strategic objectives in areas such as clean energy, Sub-Saharan Africa, transformational exports, and technology.
- Uses standard transactional processing methods and general financial services techniques to analyze credit and financial statements of prospective or returning clients.
- Engages with potential clients in assigned regions or industries who may participate in U.S. export transactions.
- Designs, executes, and tracks marketing plans for Chief Commercial Officer initiatives and prepares status reports for EXIM leadership.
- Produces program literature describing EXIM financial service programs, product lines, processes, and operating system infrastructure for internal and public use (including working capital guarantees, export credit insurance, loan guarantees, and direct loans).
- Acts as a primary contact for key regions, industries, or export categories as needed.
- Educates clients about the array of EXIM and related agency programs available to exporters and importers of U.S. equipment and services.
- Counsels clients on how to apply for U.S. government financing, program requirements, applicable fees, and documentary and credit requirements of the appropriate program structure.
- Ensures timely follow-up on qualified leads.
- Guides clients on credit standards and country limitations from initial contact to a complete EXIM application.
- Represents EXIM as a speaker on medium- and long-term export transactions, trade finance, and related issues; attends conferences and seminars to highlight EXIM financing opportunities.
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Background and security/suitability investigation are required.
- A one-year probationary period may be required.
- Specialized experience must be documented on your resume.
- Current or former political appointees must disclose recent status (within the last five years).
- May require financial disclosure of personal and immediate family holdings and outside positions.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a national security clearance (Confidential, Secret, Top Secret, or Top Secret/SCI).
- Subject to random drug testing after employment begins.
- GS-11 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-09, including:
- Contributing to the development, design, and execution of marketing plans for global export promotion initiatives.
- Providing input on selling and promoting organizational services and designing marketing content.
- Formulating communication plans and digital outreach campaigns while researching consumer and market data.
- Education substitution options: 3 years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a PhD or a doctoral degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- GS-12 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-11, including:
- Designing, implementing, and monitoring marketing plans for global export promotion initiatives.
- Selling and promoting organizational products and services and designing marketing content.
- Providing guidance to the exporting/importing community on finance regulations and limitations.
- Education cannot substitute for GS-12 experience.
