Enterprise Architect, Finance & Legal Systems

Define and execute enterprise architecture strategy for Finance and Legal technologies, modernizing critical systems with AI-driven automation and integrated data.

Responsibilities

• Define target-state architecture for Finance and Legal applications, aligned to enterprise strategy and growth objectives
• Design and deliver end-to-end architectural solutions across Finance and Legal systems with enterprise-wide integration, scalability, and performance
• Own a multi-year modernization roadmap covering ERP, FP&A, Legal, and Sales Compensation systems
• Apply identity-first security principles, integrating with Okta and other IAM solutions for authentication, authorization, and compliance
• Architect AI/ML capabilities that optimize Finance and Legal operations, including:
  • Predictive forecasting
  • Anomaly detection
  • Spend optimization
  • Contract risk scoring
  • Intelligent reconciliation
• Partner with the Enterprise AI team to operationalize AI/ML solution models within G&A functions and align to business outcomes
• Ensure seamless data flow across systems including NetSuite/Oracle, Coupa, Scout, Anaplan, Conga, and Xactly using APIs and middleware (Boomi); maintain unified data models for analytics and AI consumption
• Identify and deliver opportunities to embed generative AI, NLP, and LLM capabilities into core Finance and Legal processes such as:
  • Financial reporting
  • Close management
  • Reconciliation
  • Contract lifecycle management
  • Legal document automation
• Lead functional and technical design, including hands-on proof of concepts (POCs) and AI-driven automations to reduce manual effort
• Pilot, prototype, and demo innovative solutions and newer technologies such as AI and automation
• Collaborate with Finance, Legal, IT, Data, Compliance, Security, and Engineering teams to translate business objectives into scalable, secure, innovative solutions
• Partner with Finance, Legal, Compliance, Security, and Engineering leaders to define technology roadmaps aligned with Okta business priorities
• Translate complex SaaS Finance and Legal requirements (including revenue recognition, contract risk management, and GDPR) into technical solutions
• Act as a trusted advisor to leadership on Finance and Legal technology trends, including subscription/usage-based billing, AI contract analytics, and compliance automation
• Influence executives and decision-makers on solution architecture, system strategy, and adoption of innovative technologies to drive transformation
• Support and/or lead ERP and Legal tool implementations and enhancements, including:
  • ERP: Oracle, NetSuite, Coupa, Scout, Anaplan
  • Legal tools: Conga, DocuSign
• Establish and champion governance frameworks for data privacy, SOX compliance, and access control across Finance and Legal systems
• Support organization-wide rollout of data governance by working with Data Governance, business teams, and data warehousing teams

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field
• TOGAF or similar Enterprise Architecture certification is a plus
• 15+ years of software engineering experience, including significant time as an Architect or Principal in:
  • ERP systems (Oracle / NetSuite / SAP)
  • FP&A systems (Anaplan)
  • CLM systems (Aptus / Conga / Ironclad)
• Experience with multiple ERP (Oracle or NetSuite) full-cycle implementations
• Strong storytelling and communication skills for technical and executive stakeholders
• Deep understanding of Finance process areas including:
  • Order to Cash
  • Record to Report
  • Source to Pay
  • Plan to Report (FP&A)
  • Treasury
  • Credit Collection
  • Revenue Recognition
  • Subscription Billing
  • Contract Life Cycle Mgmt within Legal Ops
• Demonstrated hands-on experience architecting functional and technical solutions within major business applications, including expertise with:
  • NetSuite (or Oracle)
  • Aptus / Conga (or Ironclad)
  • Anaplan, Coupa, Scout
  • Tax engines such as Avalara, Vertex, or OneSource
  • Knowledge of data models and APIs for integration and solution development
• Architected and delivered AI Agents using leading LLMs including Gemini, OpenAI, or Claude
• Experience managing software and vendor selection with end-state enterprise architecture in mind
• Proficiency with middleware such as MuleSoft, Workato, Boomi, or Informatica for connecting Finance, Legal, CRM, and data platforms
• Familiarity with code, configuration, and system performance standards/reviews to ensure quality, scalability, and compliance
• Proficiency with AWS, Azure, or GCP, including knowledge of data lakes/warehouses such as Snowflake, Redshift, and BigQuery for SaaS revenue and compliance analytics
• Identity & Security knowledge including SSO, OAuth, SAML, SCIM, and Zero Trust principles, with hands-on integration experience in Okta or similar IAM platforms
• Occasional travel may be expected for project and team collaboration meetings and organization offsites
