Overview
Northwestern Mutual is seeking a Financial Advisor for an onsite, in person role in Tacoma, WA. In this position you will guide clients toward their financial goals through personalized planning, investment management, and estate planning. You will apply your knowledge of wealth management and advisory services to develop tailored strategies that address evolving needs and help clients build and protect their legacies.
Responsibilities
- Develop customized financial plans by assessing clients' assets, liabilities, income, and expenses.
- Offer expert guidance on estate planning strategies, including wills and trusts, and related estate law considerations to safeguard legacies.
- Conduct research and use financial software to evaluate investment options aligned with clients' risk tolerance and objectives.
- Manage client portfolios by monitoring market trends and adjusting strategies to optimize performance within regulatory guidelines.
- Educate clients on financial concepts such as securities law, tax implications, cash management, and asset allocation to support informed decisions.
- Foster strong client relationships through proactive communication, regular reviews, and tailored financial solutions that meet evolving needs.
- Stay current with industry regulations, including securities law and public accounting standards, to ensure compliant advisory activities.
Requirements
- Proven experience in financial sales or client advisory roles within the financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of financial analysis techniques, investment management principles, and wealth management strategies.
- Knowledge of estate planning tools such as wills, trusts, and estate law to advise clients effectively.
- Familiarity with financial software platforms used for portfolio management and research purposes.
- Excellent math skills coupled with a solid foundation in accounting principles and technical accounting standards.
- Ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly and confidently to diverse audiences.
- Relevant certifications or licenses related to securities law or financial advising are preferred but not mandatory; ongoing professional development is encouraged.

Compensation
Salary: USD 100,000 - 150,000 per year.
