Job Description
The Financial Advisor (sales) role at New York Life, based onsite in Melville, NY, centers on meeting clients, evaluating financial needs, presenting suitable solutions, delivering ongoing service, and crafting personal business and marketing plans with potential for a strong income.
Responsibilities
- Engage new prospective clients to discuss financial concerns and needs
- Conduct information gathering sessions with clients to understand their circumstances
- Assess client needs and propose tailored financial solutions
- Provide ongoing service and relationship management to clients
- Develop and execute personal business and marketing plans
- Pursue continual professional development and knowledge enhancement
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Previous sales experience is advantageous
- Life and health insurance licenses must be obtained within 30 days of acceptance; costs are covered by the company
- FINRA Series 6 or 7 and 63 registrations must be obtained within 120 days; costs are covered by the company
- Highly self-motivated and disciplined with the ability to work effectively with limited supervision
- Strong organizational, detail-oriented, and time-management skills
- Solid sales, analytical, decision-making, interpersonal, leadership, and communications abilities
- Ability to operate effectively in a collaborative, team-based environment
- Background as an athlete and/or coach is preferred
- Willingness to engage in required training

- Year 1: $65,000 - $132,000
- Year 3: $109,000 - $205,000
