Job Description
This Finance & Business Management Associate role is based onsite in Columbus, OH, supporting Home Lending Operations with a focus on monthly reporting, budgeting, headcount planning, and technology initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Develop department level headcount and expense forecasts for Home Lending Operations, with monthly updates to finance and capacity plans
- Build capacity plans by tracking productivity drivers in operations, estimating required headcount based on forecast loan volumes, and engaging with department leaders to understand drivers and adjust headcount accordingly
- Deliver variance analysis in monthly financial reporting, detailing why actual expenses and headcount differ from budgets
- Manage third party vendor expenses, load costs to the budget, produce monthly reports, track invoices, and process monthly expense accruals
- Collaborate with team members and present findings to team leaders including Vice President, Executive Director, and Operations leadership
- Contribute to leadership driven projects, participate in peer meetings, and respond quickly to feedback and assignments
- Support business cases involving NPV, IRR, and Capex analyses to evaluate investment tradeoffs
- Leverage AI and large language models in daily tasks to enhance efficiency
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related area
- 1-2 years of experience in Financial Analysis, Accounting, Business Reporting, or related field
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills with experience in complex formulas
- Dashboard and data visualization experience using Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, or Thoughtspot
- Intermediate skill with enterprise financial software and data retrieval tools such as Dodeca Essbase
- Ability to prepare professional finance PowerPoint presentations for monthly finance reviews
- Intermediate proficiency with MS Office applications including Outlook, Word, OneNote, and PowerPoint
