Global Finance and Business Management

Based in Columbus, Ohio, this Associate role sits within JPMorganChase's Global Finance and Business Management group, supporting the Home Lending (CCB) Product Controllers team. You will oversee accounting and reporting treatments, shape end-to-end workflows, and drive data analysis, automation, and cross-functional integration into financial reporting.

Job Description

As an Associate in the Product Controllers team, you will provide oversight and guidance on accounting and reporting treatments while ensuring alignment with corporate and regulatory requirements. The role involves developing accounting and reporting workflows and contributing to business integration efforts that streamline processes and establish best practices for data management.

Responsibilities

• Understand and drive how business results flow into various financial systems and generate ad hoc reporting or analyses to support the business and external reporting.
• Establish accounting flows and documented procedures aligned with agreed booking models.
• Build strong relationships across CFO, P&A, Data Product, and other functional teams to provide controller support.
• Offer guidance on accounting standards and external reporting requirements by staying current on US GAAP and regulatory rules.
• Understand allocation rules and documentation, including Regulation W requirements, to ensure business compliance.
• Escalate issues constructively and present complex information clearly to management.
• Collaborate with Technology, MIS and Control partners to ensure reporting processes and solutions deliver accurate results and meet risk and control standards.
• Demonstrate sound judgment to mitigate risk and foster an environment where risk and control issues are escalated and trends anticipated.
• Build a cohesive team across locations through effective communication, involvement, and leadership.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3+ years of experience in Accounting/Controller, Finance, Business Management or Financial Analysis
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to prepare decks and present data to senior leadership
• High proficiency in Excel, SAP, and Hyperion Essbase with experience handling large data sets
• Ability to quickly grasp concepts, design a plan, and execute for results
• Team player capable of collaborating across diverse functions, locations and businesses
• Strong influencing skills and the ability to clearly articulate insights and recommendations from large data sets
• Strong prioritization, multitasking, and organizational abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Home Lending experience
• 3+ years in Accounting/Controller, Finance, Business Management or Financial Analysis
• Experience in Product Control, Financial Control, or knowledge of SEC/regulatory reporting or Planning and Analysis
• Experience with SQL, ETL and/or data visualization tools (SQL, Tableau, Alteryx) and automation skills
• CPA certification
