Banker Analyst

The Analyst role sits within JPMorgan Chase's Syndicated Finance Group, part of Commercial Banking, focusing on financial analysis, risk assessment, due diligence, and deal structuring with direct interaction with clients and investors. This onsite position is based in Chicago, IL, with a salary range of USD 100,000 to 105,000 per year and requires a bachelor's degree.

Responsibilities

• Develop and drive detailed financial models and thorough financial statement analysis
• Assess cash flow and debt capacity across diverse business models
• Lead the preparation of capital markets materials, credit approval packages, and marketing collateral
• Review work produced by analysts to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Engage extensively with clients and investors throughout the deal process
• Learn and apply the full range of J.P. Morgan products and services
• Provide transaction and market updates to internal and external stakeholders
• Contribute to the development and execution of strategic initiatives

Requirements

• 1+ years of relevant experience in investment banking or commercial banking ( banker or underwriting role )
• Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities; ability to distill large datasets into innovative client solutions
• Knowledge of Commercial Banking, credit, and debt capital markets products
• Solid credit judgment
• Ability to independently manage less complex transactions
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Highly organized; capable of managing projects with minimal supervision
• Ability to perform well under pressure, multitask, and meet tight deadlines
• Outstanding presentation skills; comfortable presenting to client senior management, investors, and senior firm members
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Securities licenses 7 or 79, and 63 required or must be obtained within 180 days of start date; active licenses not required for this role will not be carried by JPMorgan Securities LLC

The Syndicated Finance Group (SFG) operates within Capital & Advisory Solutions in Commercial Banking. SFG focuses on complex syndicated and leveraged transactions for middle market clients, furnishing insights into debt capital markets to support corporate financing needs such as working capital, capital projects, mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, and recapitalizations. As an Analyst in SFG, you will build essential skills in financial analysis, risk assessment, due diligence, and deal structuring, functioning as an integrated member of the deal team.
