The Finance Director collaborates with the CEO to guide financial health, operations, and long-range planning for The Family Schools' school and summer camp, based onsite in Brewster, Massachusetts.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and the preparation of monthly and annual financial reports.
- Develop timely, accurate financial dashboards and management reports to inform the CEO and leadership team.
- Maintain robust internal controls and regulatory compliance; coordinate annual audits and tax filings.
- Manage payroll processing, benefits administration, and day-to-day business office activities.
- Supervise administrative personnel and oversee vendor relationships and contract management.
- Design and implement streamlined workflows, internal controls, and documentation to strengthen organizational capacity.
- Collaborate with the CEO on long-range financial planning and organizational strategy.
- Promote a culture of professionalism, stewardship, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field
- Minimum five years of progressive financial leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, financial reporting, and payroll operations
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Office or Google Workspace
- Proven track record of improving financial systems and organizational processes
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication abilities
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution
